About
Crenoir is an independent research commons, not-for-profit in spirit (D3), on how products, technology and AI meet human beings.
We are not a studio and we are not a feed. We publish research, give Fellows a page built from what they make, and put one search in front of all of it.
The Human Ledger — how we measure what a design asks of a person — is explained on its own page.
The stance
- We work slowly and say so. A study takes the time it takes.
- We measure what a design asks of a person, not only what it earns from them.
- We publish the method and the limits alongside the finding.
- We don't use engagement tricks on our own readers — no feeds, no streaks, no popularity contests.
The pillars
Attention & time
What a product costs someone's focus, and how honestly it asks for it.
Trust & consent
How a product earns belief, and whether agreement was actually informed.
Memory & context
What a product remembers for a person, and what it makes them carry instead.
Imagination & agency
Whether a design leaves room for someone's own judgment, or closes it off.
Belonging & exposure
What a product makes visible to others, and what it quietly hides.
How review works
Crenoir reviews everything published here (D4). There is no self-publishing in v1 — with a small network, the standard is the brand (P5). Every public work carries one of three badges.
Passed review: clear purpose, honest method, claims that match the evidence.
Published, then given a full second review and upgraded on its merits.
Written and reviewed by Crenoir's own stewards.
Who we are
Crenoir is run by a small group of stewards who review every submission, accept Fellows, and keep the commons calm and useful.
